Night splints help stretch the plantar fascia ligament. Oftentimes, the pain is just caused by lack of stretching in the area. The splint will prevent the ligament from getting tight during the night.

Stretching will prevent the ligament from getting tight and increase its flexibility. Some exercises that will strengthen the muscles will also help because the ligament is connected to the muscles.

Often times, you develop foot problems because you wear improper footwear. Sometimes we also forget that footwear has expiration dates. We tend to wear them until they are badly broken not knowing that they can damage our feet.
